San Jose Giants Game

Each year thousands of underprivileged Bay Area children participate in Junior Giants, where boys and girls learn Confidence, Integrity, Leadership and Teamwork in a non-competitive baseball league. They also learn about health, the importance of education and violence prevention. 55% of these kids have never owned a baseball mitt.

In 2008 the Giants Community Fund was voted the best sports-related charity among all major professional sports in the country. The Junior Giants, a program of the Community Fund, serves more than 20,000 children and has more than 2,500 volunteer coaches. Started in 1994 to teach confidence, integrity, leadership, and teamwork to at-risk youth, the Junior Giants now has more than 85 leagues of boys and girls ages 5 to 18, from Stockton to Eureka.

Junior Giants, the flagship program of the Giants Community Fund, is a free, non-competitive and innovative baseball program for boys and girls ages 5 to 18. More than 20,000 youths participate in the Junior Giants program each year in more than 85 leagues, serving more than 150 cities. The Giants Community Fund provides the jerseys, hats, and baseball equipment necessary to run each league. The Fund also provides tickets for youths to attend select Giants games.

Freemasonry is the world’s first and largest fraternal organization, based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to make the world a better place. The fraternity, named after stonemasons in the Middle Ages who built castles and cathedrals, today provides men with opportunities for fellowship, community service, philanthropy and leadership.

The Masons of California are teaming up with the Junior Giants to bring the fun of baseball to more kids. The Junior Giants can leverage their buying power to purchase great baseball mitts for $20 each. Our goal is to fund 5000 baseball mitts for the Junior Giants program – and bring America’s national past time to 5000 Bay Area kids.
