Recycle Program

The San Jose International Order of DeMolay approached Friendship Lodge for their support. In lieu of seeking direct financial support, they are looking for ways to earn their money. I met with them and we brainstormed on various ways Friendship Lodge could help them. The greening of our environment is a priority for both DeMolay and Friendship Lodge. DeMolay has participated in a recycling program over the last year. They collect all aluminum cans, plastic and glass bottles, take them to the recycle center and use those found to subside their programs. We’d like to give a hand to our youth group by helping them in turning recycling into cash and to help our environment. For our next Stated Meeting Dinner and for the rest of the year, please bring your aluminum cans, plastic and glass bottles and help turn these recyclables into cash. DeMolay members will stand outside at the parking lot to collect everything you may have for the remainder of the year. There are some details about what is recyclable in the State of California.

Any BEVERAGE container which has “CRV” (California Redemption Value) or “CA CASH REFUND” somewhere on the labeling.

This includes:

  • Aluminum Cans (soda, beer, Arizona Iced Tea, &c)
  • Plastic Soda Bottles of all sizes (Coke, Sprite, etc.)
  • Clear Plastic Water Bottles (Crystal Geyser, Arrowhead, Kirkland, etc.)
  • Glass Bottles (Beer, Soda)

NOTE THAT THIS DOES *NOT* INCLUDE ALL GLASS BOTTLES, BUT ONLY THOSE WITH THE ABOVE “CRV” OR “CA CASH REFUND” TEXT ON THE LABELS.

Also, we will take *CLEAN* bulk-Aluminum (e.g., pie pans, catering pans, foil). This bulk-Aluminum isn’t worth that much in cash (politics), but it is still critical for the environment because of how much energy it saves by recycling
